About This Blog

I enjoy writing. It also helps me reduce my stress levels.

I have written extensively over the past years but rarely shared it. Originally I did not feel the need to share anything. What good can I offer with my writing in a world of over-sharing and overabundance of information? Over the years, I have gradually changed my opinion.

First, I realized that exposing myself to the world, even to one reader, can be beneficial to my authenticity and self-awareness. It forces me to think about how I deliver a message and make an argument or a point, making me more self-aware of my naiveties, nuances, and gaps. I am a big believer in being authentic and self-aware. It is such a hard thing to get right because it requires continuously looking at yourself in the mirror and telling yourself the truth about everything. Exposing myself to the world with my writing helps me in this journey.

Second, I’ve read so much bad writing, and I think I can do better. I like humility, but there is a difference between being humble and being afraid.

Third, life is so short not to do what you want. I want to have meaning in everything I do: my work, relationships, and the things I do on the side. Having fun or money is great, but it is not an end goal or an end. I need meaning, and I feel it from top to toe. And writing is one of the ways that helps me get there, letter by letter, word by word.

I want to write about startups, innovation, life lessons, productivity and anything else I get passionate about in the future.

I am Kouris, I like to write, and I tend to “live up there” sometimes; that’s why I named this blog that way. That’s the only introduction of myself you’ll find here.
